President’s Report

It’s been a busy year! Only nine years old and together we have grown pickleball on the North Shore significantly. No longer just an outdoor club playing on outdoor courts, we now provide pickleball play all year long.  Our new and improved website with its dynamic logo offers an entry point for many newcomers to the sport and we continue to bring the joy of pickleball to local schools.

There’s power in our membership numbers! During my tenure alone, the inventory of outdoor dedicated permanent courts on the North Shore has grown from nine (Murdo and Mahon) to twenty-five (Little Cates, Ambleside, Normanby and Myrtle)!   Our advocacy will culminate in nine more courts being built on the North Shore this year: three permanent, regulation-sized courts at Gleneagles and six at Delbrook!

Thanks to your continued support we will keep speaking for pickleball on the North Shore!

2026 Annual General Meeting

The meeting was held with quorum at Cedar Springs last night, April 23. Thanks to everyone who came out! We said thank you to Sam Goode for his service on the Board and re-elected John Bulick, Jim Burke, Elvyna Kerrey, Estha Parg Murenbeeld, Randy Reimann, Ingrid Siltala-Mort, Margo Smith-Kavanagh and Karen Wilson.

An invitation to the AGM with links to the agenda, etc. was sent to the entire membership on April 16 via the Pickleball Canada National System (PCNS). It is with regret that it only came to our attention today that 20% of those emails bounced.

Please know that those documents remain on the website under Governance for you to review. Feel fre to pass along your ideas to the Board via info@nspickleball.ca.
