1. Extraordinary General Meeting

Friday October 23, 7:30-pm

Cedar Springs PARC,

3633 Mt. Seymour Parkway, south of Parkgate Center.

Appies and coffee, our treat! Cash bar.

Holding an annual AGM is a requirement of the BC Societies Act; however, in the winter months when our AGM must be held and many members are travelling, its been difficult to achieve quorum.  We are just a small group of volunteers trying to get the business of the club done in a way that respects our time and energy … no other motive!  The proposed bylaw amendment would allow the meeting to go ahead with a smaller number of members present.

This meeting to consider the amendment is being held in at the same time and place as our Volunteer Appreciation event where we expect to have quorum.  Anyone wishing to speak to the motion and/or participate in the vote is welcome to join us.

Bylaw Amendment Motion:

That NSPC bylaw 3.7 be amended to read:

The quorum for the transaction of business at a general meeting is 15 voting members.
If a general meeting is adjourned until a later time because a quorum is not in attendance, and if, at the continuation of the adjourned meeting, a quorum is again not in attendance, the voting members in attendance constitute a quorum for the purposes of that meeting.
